An annual favorite – visits from Santa Claus to your private cabin can be arranged through our lobby. Learn how Santa makes his way around the world and how he packs all the toys on his sleigh. His visits include a present for each child and a detailed account of his journeys. He even answers grown-up questions too!

2. Holiday Baking in our cabins with Fully Equipped Kitchens

If that doesn’t put you in the Christmas mood, then maybe baking a tasty treat will do the trick! All our cabins have basic cooking and kitchen supplies to help you make your favorite holiday recipes. Or perhaps you’d like to try and find a new favorite? Baking is a great low-impact activity that you can do with all ages while building memories together. Plus, share your results with us on Facebook! The more the merrier!

3. Winter Hiking

Winter hiking is a favorite local pastime. The mountains offer a variety of forest trails with a range of difficulty levels. You can also enjoy the bounty of nature by collecting fresh boughs and pine cones as you walk. These make perfect Christmas decorations for your own home. Trail maps are available in the lobby at Pine Rose Cabins.

4. Ice Skating

Ready for a more adventurous outing? Try the Ice-Skating Rink at Skypark! One of the many seasonal activities found in Skypark at Santa’s Village located a short drive from Pine Rose. The Silver Bells Arena hosts ice skating all winter long. Skate rentals are included with a Day Pass and guests are also welcome to bring their own skates.

Local Tip: While you’re at Skypark enjoy some fresh baked goods at The Gingerbread Bakery. Try their specialized gingerdoodles and yup, you guessed it – gingerbread cookies too!

Snow Valley

5. Skiing, Snowboarding & Sledding

Thrill-seekers can hit the slopes at the longest operating resort in Southern California, Snow Valley . With new management, the 2023-24 season will boast updated trails, snowmaking equipment and better access to backcountry terrain. Plus, the resort features some of the region’s best learning slopes and instruction teams for those new to the sport. Not into snowboarding or skiing? Snow Valley also operates a lift-served sledding and snow tubing run for all ages.

6. Christmas Shopping & Decor at Lake Arrowhead Village

Enjoy the seasonal decorations and the large Christmas tree at the Village in Lake Arrowhead. With over 50 shops, outlet stores, restaurants and boutiques, the Lake Arrowhead village is a center for visitors as well as locals. Check out their event page for a list of holiday activities. In addition to the main village, the villages of Blue Jay, Cedar Glen, Sky Forest and Crestline offer other options for food, shopping and artisan wares. Each of these villages are located a short distance from each other through the woodsy, mountain roads.

The Arrowhead Queen is another popular attraction at Lake Arrowhead. Sit back and relax on a riverboat-style tour around the exclusive homes situated on the lake. Did you know that over 120 movies have been filmed in Lake Arrowhead? The one-hour, narrated tour offers a close-up view of the famous homes and filming locations that belong to the history of this beloved mountain area.

8. Craft Beer

Do you enjoy craft beer? The Lake Arrowhead Brewing company offers beer tastings at their brewery adjacent to the Lake Arrowhead Village. They offer original IPAs, Sours, Seltzers, and other varieties by the glass or by the can. Their outdoor seating area is a perfect place to relax and play games with friends and family. All ages are welcome, and it is pet friendly too! Want to try something different? The Lakefront Tap Room has 30 beers on a rotating tap and if you’re hungry try the tasty pizza and beer at LouEddie’s Pizza in Sky Forest.

Heaps Peak Arboretum

8. A stroll through the woods at Heaps Peak Arboretum

Heaps Peak Arboretum offers a 1.5 mile graded trail through the woods near Rim of the World Highway. The trail offers plant descriptions and markers to make this short walk fun for everyone. They also have an animal-print walk, showing the footprints of many local species of animals found on the mountain! Can you track them all?
